Summer Internship Program - selection process (Arista Networks)

SIP - Arista Networks 2022 I was "not selected" by more than 12  IT companies before I was selected as an SDE intern by Arista Networks . I was never shortlisted beyond the first (coding) rounds, until Arista's. Resume   Plus points on the resume (I think): Small list of "technical proficiency" : I only put JavaSE because if I could choose the topics of discussion where I could exhibit my strengths, it would have been Java. It is not about the length of the list but the confidence in every item . Project variety : Every project was different, and every project talked about my exposure to a specific set of technologies. IT internship (PS1) : I had only 1 work experience but that was in the IT sector. Where my resume lacked: Non-CS branch : Before I was selected, 30+ CS students were selected and only 1 or 2 non-CS were selected for IT roles.  Relatively low CPGA: compared to those who were being shortlisted after every round,  8.1 was not good enough. BITSAT 2020 2020 I was so confident that I could get a good rank in the JEE Advanced that I had not invested enough time to prepare for BITSAT. A lot of my friends wrote BITSAT just as a backup plan and so did I. After checking the syllabus on the day before the exam, I realised that some topics were in the BITSAT syllabus but not in the JEE syllabus. I remember that  linear programming was something new to me. I also checked the question paper pattern and figured out that it was more of a speed test. I also learned about the bonus questions that appear after attempting all questions. However, CSE in the Pilani campus only required 390 marks so bonus questions weren't mandatory. I figured if I do well it was an achievable target. I should've known better...   Grade 12 Exam 2020 I went to Christ Academy Junior College, Bangalore for my higher secondary education (Grade 11 & 12) and  wrote my  ISC  board exams in  February, 2020 .  The result was declared on 10 July, 2020. I got a  97.75%  taking the best 4 (of 5) including English.  The school awarded me for      1)  being the school's second topper with 97.75%     2) f or a perfect score in Mathematics (100%)     3) for a perfect score in Computer Science (100%)

Grade 10 Exam 2018 I went to Christ Academy ICSE School, Bangalore   and wrote my ICSE board exams in March, 2018 .  The result was declared on 14 March 2018. I got a 95.8% taking the best 5 (of 6) including English.  The school awarded me for being the school topper in Science (98%)

  A Coding Based Treasure  Hunt 2018 A problem isn't completely solved as long as there is a better solution. "Hey Edwin, I have come across a coding event. I was thinking maybe you and someone else could team up to represent our school?" said my computer science teacher in school. I loved coding. I definitely said "yes". We were exposed to JAVA as a subject for a little more than a year before the event, and almost the whole class was familiar with the basic integer problems, string manipulations and 2D array traversals. However,  I had solved quite a few medium level problems on HackerRank by then, purely out of interest. Although there was less than a week to prepare, I felt more than ready for it.  The event was called "Code Decode". It was an inter-school (2 per team) competition; a  treasure hunt,  except that to get the clue to the subsequent locations, one either had to predict the output of a Java snippet using pen-and-paper, count the total...

Jee Advanced Result 2020 and 2021 What is JEE Advanced? JEE Advanced  is the nation-wide entrance examination for the engineering admissions to the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology). It is conducted once every year with around 2 lakh candidates from all over the country (after qualifying JEE Mains). Students are allowed to attempt the exam in the year they pass the class 12 board exam, and the year after (with certain conditions). JEE Advanced 2020 Conducting a national exam in the middle of an international situation (the Covid-19 pandemic) was indeed difficult. It was postponed several times. 'Cancelling' and 'finding alternate ways to admit students' were some of the actively discussed topics.  Finally JEE Advanced was conducted on 27th September, 2020. AAP Mentor October 2021 - February 2022 What is AAP Mentorship? AAP stands for Academic Assistance Program. This program is a part of the BITS culture where the second year students volunteer to help the first year students academically. It includes clarifying doubts, providing solutions to numerical exercising, providing exam tips and sometimes conducting live sessions to reiterate important concept. My Inspiration Due to the 2020 pandemic, classes had started even before the admission where completed. I missed the orientation and a month or so of the classes. Being newly admitted, I knew no one and having it all online made it even harder to cover up my backlogs. It was difficult to know what the instructors expected of us in class. Engineering Graphics was a subject I found difficulty because some preparation was to be done before every class.
